Step 1: Registration

• Registration can be made at PLMSB headquarter or any nearby Pejabat Pendaftaran Calon (PPC).
• Documents needed for registration:
  • Original identification card (Local applicants)
  • Original passport and visa (Foreign applicants)
• Physical health requirement:
  • Not colour blind
  • Have clear vision up to 23 meters in daytime

Step 2: Attending Theoretical Course on Defensive Driving (KPP 01)

• Duration: 6 hours
• Time: 8am – 4pm (Includes break time)
• Age Requirements: 17 years old and above
• Dress Code: Neat and polite.
  • Male: Collared shirts, long pants and shoes (half-length pants, sandals and slippers is not allowed)
  • Female: Long pants / skirts, shoes (half-length pants / skirts, sandals and slippers is not allowed)
• Documents needed:
  • Original identification card, or,
  • Original passport and visa

Step 3: Attending a computerized theoretical test (Highway Code and Defensive Driving)

• Reservation can be made through call or direct booking at registered office prior appointment date.
• Examination will take place at MyEg Taman Sri Muda (a certified e-Khidmat Testing Centre)
• Duration: 45 minutes
• Passing marks: 42/50
• Pass – Proceed to the issuance of Learner’s Driving License (LDL). The process will takes around 7 working days.
• Fail – Candidate needs to re-sit the test.

Step 4: Driving Circuit Practical Training and On the Road Practical Training (KPP02 and KPP03)

• Practical training on the driving circuit (KPP 02) – 5 ½ hours
• Practical training on the road (KPP 03) – 10 hours
• Total practical training is 15 ½ hours
• Candidates are allowed to make appointments for practical training after obtaining their Learner’s Driving License (LDL)
• Usually practical training is divided into 4 sessions (4 hours per session)
• Maximum hours of practical training is 5 ½ hours per day

Step 5: Qualifying test (QTI)

• Qualifying test is 30 minutes
• Evaluation test will determines whether the candidate is eligible to take practical test conducted by JPJ
• If the candidate fails in the above test, that candidate needs to re-sit the test before he/she is allowed to undergo the driving test conducted by JPJ

Step 6: Undergoing Part II and Part III (practical test) by JPJ

• Reservation for the driving test conducted by JPJ will be made after candidates fulfill the following requirements:-
  • Completed Driving Circuit Practical Training (KPP 02) and On The Road Practical Training (KPP 03)
  • Passed the Qualifying Test
  • Validity of Learner’s Driving License (LDL) more than 30 days from the issuance date
• Results of driving test will announce immediately after completed the test.
• The process of issuance of Probationary Driving License (PDL) will takes around 7 working days.
• Candidates who failed the test need to re-sit the test after one week subject to the availability of the slots.

Step 5: Qualifying Test (QTI)

• Qualifying test is 30 minutes
• Evaluation test will determines whether the candidate is eligible to take practical test conducted by JPJ
• If the candidate fails in the above test, that candidate needs to re-sit the test before he/she is allowed to undergo the driving test conducted by JPJ
